The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the Quality Control for the
organization and to maintain the Quality Management System to ensure the quality of
products produced by the Universal Coils and Heat Exchangers.
The incumbent will have the responsibility to engage the entire organization from
customer order through product delivery (order fulfillment process) to ensure
continuous improvement of processes and product quality. Key activities of this
position include developing and evaluating quality performance measures,
maintaining ISO9000 certification, ASME Quality Manual and identifying improvement
Tasks include preparing documents, maintaining databases, and utilizing the quality
reporting system for document control, audits, and corrective and preventive action.
Additional responsibilities are development and maintenance of inspection procedures
and processes, inspection of parts and products, and the auditing of production
functions and processes.
The incumbent is also responsible for reviewing and resolving customer complaints
and working with engineering, purchasing, and outside vendors/suppliers to resolve
issues with nonconforming parts. The successful incumbent will consistently meet or
exceed all goals on time and show an ability to negotiate through tough situations
between customers or vendors/suppliers and Universal Coils.
Also, the successful incumbent will demonstrate the integrity needed to honestly
address problems and act as the customers’ and/or vendors’ advocate when Universal
Coils systems failures have caused problems.
Manage the Quality organization and maintain the quality management system

Monitor and control non-conformance, customer returns, and debit activity
Develop and issue reports on quality measurements, such as scrap or customer
Communicate with customer and the organization regarding certification and
Manage inspection personnel
Investigate and communicate findings on customer complaints
Audit the management system to ensure compliance with process requirements
Resolve problems through root causes determination and issue Corrective and
Coordinate the maintenance of the calibration system at the Plant
Provide support on vendor rating and on the control of vendor products
Audit vendors to ensure compliance to our requirements
Responsible for all Americas plant locations
CERTIFICATION/OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point
Working knowledge of SAP or other ERP system.
Qualified ISO 9000 Auditor or Lead Auditor (helpful)
Certified Welding Inspector, NDT level 3, Manager of Quality / Organizational
Excellence, Auditor, Quality Engineer (helpful)
Value stream mapping and A3 problem solving (helpful)
Six Sigma certification (helpful)
Ability to read effectively from a computer screen and/or a paper copy
Ability to handle a large volume of work and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced
Ability to effectively verbally communicate
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technical, or a Quality related field
